Lightshines Returns

Long time MMM readers will remember "Lightshines" as a prolific writer of song parodies related to the content on this and other blogs.

MoreMonmouthMusings is pleased to welcome him or her back with this rendition of Natural Republican

Sipprelle's real loyalties have left so many people in doubt that we needed a professional to find out the truth. We had Aretha Franklin, a natural woman, interview him and here's what she says Scott told her:

Looking out at the morning news
I used to feel so uninspired
Givin’ all that money to the Democrats
Lord, it made me feel so tired
Before the day I met the GOP, life was so unkind
But the GOP’s the key to gettin’ my pie

Cause you make me feel, you make me feel, you make me feel like
A nat’ral Republican

When my soul was in the lost-and-found
Hooked up with the liberal party
I didn't know just what was wrong with me
Till your endorsement helped me name it
Now I'm no longer doubtful of what I'm living for
And if I get your support I don't need to do more

Cause you make me feel, you make me feel, you make me feel like
A nat’ral Republican

Oh, baby, what you've done for me
You givin’ me this opportunity
And I just want to be your candidate
You make me feel so alive
You make me feel, you make me feel, you make me feel like
A nat’ral Republican

this poem sucks

Art - how come no coverage on Shannon Wright? Shes hired some top consultants in the game. Shes black, a former Dem, she has a real shot of beating Pallone.

How come no coverage?

She hasn't demostrated that she's a serious contender. She issued a release earlier this week that both violated "off the record" ground rules of an event she was at and implied she has the support of a high level Republican that does not support her.

There is one more issue that needs to be resolved, that her staff is aware of, before she can use this blog to get attention/traction.

Hey Lightshines. Now that it's been shown that Halfacre lied about Sipprelle not being a Republican until 2007, how about a poem about Halfacre? Maybe something patterned on "Liar Liar" (an old Castaways song).
