This young man gives quite a good speech. Sounds a bit like a Republican. While we're busy fighting about who should be nominated because of what town they come from and how long they have been around, seems they have found a bright young man with some talent. Start to takle notice folks. Why we need the BEST candidate.

Where was the pancake breakfast at one of the places in Scudiery's Shopping Plaza? We have already seen what Scudiery and his cohort Mullaney did to Matawan. Matawan still hasn't forgotten how the DMV was moved from Matawan to Scudiery's Plaza in Hazlet while Mullaney was in office and the Democrats held the majority at the Matawan Council.

I think the argument has been about who is the best candidate.
things like how someone looks and sounds, What therir positions are, Where they are from, What the do, What experience they have, their ability to raise money, there grass roots support and how well they campaign are all impoertant things to consider when deciding who is going to carry your flags party.

he is smart, no doubt, but came off quite nasty when speaking in front of the freeholders a few weeks ago..we need that Italian name Arnone, vs. the 2 Dem Italians,then- ethnicities do matter still, here- Irish and Italian names do well in Monmouth..check past results....

Great speach. Very impressive! The young man has passion, conviction and energy. If he doesn't win this year the old fart Burry is toast next year.

noone knows who he, just because hes smart doesent mean he can get 2 votes. He has not been vetted, has no credibility and has not accomplished anything. Has he been on the boards of any charities? Has he balanced a budget? Has he done anything of accomplishment aside from getting a masters degree?

Wow that last comment sounds as if you are speaking of many of the people the R's are considering running. Double standard?

Really how is that young guy going to understand how to exchange appointments for support, hire people to government jobs and hand out no-bid contracts in exchange for campaign contributions. He stands no chance against the GOP machine

He'll follow Amy Mallet's lead and do what Judge D'Amico orders.

He stands no chance against the GOP machine

Probably true now that Governor Christie has leveled the playing field by making unions play by the same campaign contribution rules as everyone else.

I would love to see him keep his first campaign promise, to door knock in all 50 (plus) municipalities.

He is an angry young man, he will make a good "Freeholer". Lets hope Mallet will stump for him.

Angry?

Corruption, declining home prices, soaring taxes, and as the Governor points out, the worse business climate in the country.

I'm angry about those things too.

we have the Dems at state and nat'l. level to blame for the bulk of the current mess, so ANY Dem who wins will make it worse..:"a government big enough to give you everything you want is a government big enough to take from you everything you have"..Pres. G. Ford.. ( or, basically the Dem party's main mantra/modus operendi)..the chickens have come home to roost, in spades, we just can't afford it all, any more!....

Vinny Solomeno is RIDICULOUSLY out in left field, a lightweight and a no-name when it comes to running for Freeholder of Monmouth County. He so thoroughly FUCKED UP the Democratic Party in Hazlet Township that he is tainted goods. Sure, he has name recognition amongst his home crowd in Hazlet, but the ENTIRE county. Ask anyone in Brielle or Upper Freehold or Rumson or Eatontown if they've heard of Vinny Solomeno and they will resoundingly say NO!!! Additionally, I supported Alex DeSevo's run for state legislature in 1999. Alex is a wise, bright young man but he's wasting his time serving as Solomeno's treasurer. Judge D'Amico should run as an Indepedent for re-election as Freeholder should the Democrats nominate Solomeno. God have mercy on us all if he's the nominee!!!
