Little Extends Lead Via Middlesex Provisionals

Anna Little extended her margin of victory for the CD-6 GOP nomination by two votes as a result of the Middlesex County provisional count. Little got 4 new votes to Diane Gooch's 2 votes.

Little now leads Gooch by 80 votes, 6794 to 6714. Monmouth County will review their 23 provisional votes on Monday.

super!!..no need to waste any more of Mickey's money on a recount, folks: do a good deed and give the lawyers' money to charity..

What is the delay? Why Monday and not today? Are they trying to drag this out for a reason? Next will be a recount....

Time to concede Diane.

Unless there is an allegation of fraud, (and that should have been alleged by now), I do not see how a recount helps Gooch. All provisionals and absentee ballots are machine scanned, and the voter machine tallies are on cartridges. I do not believe there are any paper emergency ballots that were used. With O'Scanlon's recount, which did not change the result, the old machines were used so tallying errors were possible.

I predict when the Monmouth vote is certified there will be a concession.

Monmouth had always planned on counting their provisionals on Monday. They had no way of knowing it would come down to this. With the difference this small, can you really blame them for a recount??? We all know that we would be BEGGING for a recount if the shoe were on the other foot.

word is, one Dem and one Rep on our county election board were "not available" to count the provisionals,on Friday: maybe it's time for each party to get to name a sub??.. while they're busy making more onerous and taxing laws, why not do something practical, for a change?.. who wants to be the first legislator to do so??

It's time for the fat lady to sing. It's over, are political bosses trying to draw this out? Anna has won fair and square.

Hey Art! How about a poll that asks "If Anna Little was down today by 80 votes would you be asking for a recount?" Let's see how many people can be objective on this site. My guess is, not many.

The political bosses are not trying to drag this out and all the election officials have acted with the utmost professionalism.

I would counsel everyone to be patient and let the process work.

Be as big as the bank account said...

in a general, there are many more absentee ballots, and many more provisionals.. agree with a prior blogger: the computer machines leave little room for human error in transposing figures, as was the case with the old Shoop dinosaurs..the printout is the printout.. in this primary, with so few provisionals, and the absentees already in the tally, if 4 election board members can't count 23 provisionals and agree on how many go to Anna and how many to Diane, we're in real trouble!!.. in this particular race, any demand for a recount is simply sour grapes, and money wasted on lawyers, and time wasted in an unwillingness to accept defeat, support the winner, and go on....

Tell that to Diane Gooch's attorney !!!!!

I am a supporter of Anna's, but if her own attorney is saying that the process should proceed, then what is the problem?

I keep hearing that "if Anna was down 80 votes, we'd all demand a recount". Yes, maybe. And also, if Diane were in the lead, they'd ask us to concede, So we know they'd do it. Why is it so unacceptable for us to do it? We won, it's our privilege to ask them to concede!

her attorney said let the process of vote counting take place and stop accusing the officials of things. he didn't say anything about a recount

if you spent hundreds of thousands the first time you stuck your toe into political waters, guess you'd try and stretch out the denials longer, too, which is what they're doing.. it is very hard to conceive of losing, when you're used to your money helping you to win at everything, I suppose..

Chill out everybody!! Have a nice Sunday and the certification for Anna Little will come down from Monmouth on Monday afternoon.
We look forward to adding Diane's team to the effort to fire F.P. and make the 6th CD a "No Pallone Zone."
