Chris Christie and Steve Lonegan took opposite sides in the medical marijuana debate yesterday.
At the South Jersey Development Forum, Christie took a law and order stand, saying that there are not enough safeguards to make sure the drug is not abused or distributed to those for whom it was not prescribed. Lonegan said the issue was a matter of "freedom and liberty," and that the law should not get in between patients and doctors.
Which is the more conservative position?

Legalize, regulate and tax the hell out of it (like cigarettes and alchohol).
End of budget deficits in NJ.
I'm actually in agreement with Mr. Christie on this issue. Steve's position is more libertarian than conservative with respect to legalizing medical marijuana.
if Corzine's gonna go the phony "medical"-weed route of Arnold, I'd have to side with Christie on it.. but, on most all else, the contrast has to be great between Corzine and Steve, so that there's a real choice, so gotta say with Steve, overall...
since it looks like Corzine's going the phony "medical-weed" route of Arnold in failing Calif., have to side with Christie on this one..on all-else, however, am with Steve, as the best contrast/choice over the Bozo..
If you watched NJN's program "On The Record" last week, you would have heard Lonegan's explaination.
The government should not come between a doctor and his patient on medical treatment.
