Bonehead season is in full swing

From April through September, every year for the last few years, The Asbury Park Press sets out to show that the GOP controlled county government is comprised of Boneheads, and the GOP cooperates.

So far, this year is no exception.

I always liked the APP.

I liked the APP when they seem to be the only newspaper to have a clue about why New Jersey is in the trash can financially and ethically.

But the APP has a vendetta against the Monmouth GOP. I think I remember the endorsements last year and they said they weren't endorsing Jeff Cantor simply because he was supported by Puharic or something along those lines. It should be interesting what they do this year, John Curley is exactly their type of candidate, but I see them still playing the let's give D's control of the county card.

But you know what, until the Monmouth GOP wakes up on pay to play and flat out bans it the APP won't stop with their vendetta.

the vendetta is not against our party but some people within it.

Curley made a big mistake speaking out in against going in house. While Damico is wrong about how many attorneys the county would need to hire he is right in stating that in house would be cheaper. If you hire 3 attorneysa secretary and two paralegals for 500 grand you can probably get rid of 800 grand or more in outside billings for attorneys.
What Curley and Lillian should do is sit down with a couple of attorneys not beholden to Carton and go over those billings. Their must be a couple of attorneys who would give an honest analysis.
I hope Curley re-examines the issue.

Curmudgeonly County Counsel Carton, like a bad check, surfaces again. I could have written parts of that editorial, but I question the "unwitting" part. Although "Flippy" D'Amico now speaks of reform, he was a supporter of Carton for many years. And "Hollywood Al" Lehrer lobbied the freeholders to reappoint Carton while a sitting Superior Court Judge.
Could Malcolm have some IOU's here?
