Barry Goldwater has the scoop on the weak Democratic ticket for the Freeholder seats.
Rumor has it that the Dems realize how over matched they are by Lillian Burry and John Curley, even with the GOP funding deficit (which will disappear at the Gala on Thursday) that they are scheming to run against this blog. I wish I could say I was clever enough to have tricked them into doing that.
Speaking of clever, Red Bank GOP chairman Jack Minton and his county committee nominated council candidate John Tyler Jr.,Stephen Fitzpatrick and former local GOP committee chairman James "Jack" Giannell, to fill the remaining 4 months of John Curley's council term. Who knew that Giannell goes by "Jack"? The APP obviously doesn't know Jack. Dem Mayor Pat Menna is concerned that the other Dem council members don't know Jack.
Will the Dems on the Red Bank council pick Tyler and give him a leg up in the council race in November, or pick Fitzpatrick or Giannell, who may be harder to work with? I'm rooting for Giannell.
UPDATE, 7/30/08 RedBankGreen has a good analysis of the Curley replacement situation. However, they don't know "Jack" either.

True !!! The Democrats need another "public servant " the caliber of Barbara Mc Morrow to run for freeholder if they want to gain control of the freeholder board. John Curley is often times the "people's representative not always the Party's representative so even if elected as a Republican, there's hope he will do the people's business not the Party's business.Lillian Burry has served Monmouth County well and neither democratic candidate will be able to defeat her without some kind of miracle. Bring on November and get on with the business of the people !!!
