OURS to WIN!

Last night I ran into a friend of mine. He's a fellow small business owner. I'm his customer. A few times per week I enter his establishment and we banter about sports and politics.

"Did you see that game last night (Yankees-Angels game 5)? That was awful!," he exclaimed as he greeted me. "That was a GREAT game!, " I countered.

"You're right, it was a good game," he said nervously, "but do you think the Yanks will pull it out? I really wanted them to win it out there and rub it into the Angels, mess with there head."

"Are you kidding me! They're up 3-2! Who cares about the Angels' heads. They're going home to Yankee Stadium with no rally monkeys or thunder sticks, " I countered enthusiastically. "This is great for New York. Its great for the fans and its great for all of the small businesses around Yankee Stadium. Of course the Yankees are going to win ONE GAME."

It occurred to me that many Christie supporters are like my friend and other nervous sports fans. We've all seen it. Be it a playoff series or a football game when their favorite team is up early, they start enjoying the victory too soon. Then when the opposition fights back into the game, they lose confidence. They yell and scream at their heroes and the coach through the TV. If their team wins, they have a sense of relief, followed by celebration. If their team loses, the team, the coaches and the owners are bums.

In sports, the fans that go to the game become part of the team. The home field advantage.

In politics, the fans are the game. Going into the last week of the gubernatorial campaign, us Christie supporters have the home field advantage. 60% of our friends, family and neighbors say they want a new governor. The game has tightened significantly since the summer, when many of us were quietly celebrating too soon, but we are still up in the score with only a few days left to play.

We each have a choice as to how we will play the last days of the game. Many will act as if they are not part of the game and nervously or even pessimistically "hope" things turn out. Those who get into the game will determine the outcome. Either way, we are the game.

Now is the time for Christie supporters to educate and influence our friends, family and neighbors. Many are just starting to pay attention. They will rely on those who they know are better informed to help them decide how to vote. Now is the time to talk about politics and influence people who are wavering toward Daggett to vote for Christie. It is not really a hard sell. There is no question that a vote for Daggett is a vote for Corzine.

Those who say they are going to write in Steve Lonegan because Chris Christie isn't conservative enough, or because you don't like his commercials that appeal to moderates and liberals...you folks just haven't suffered enough.

You probably haven't had to lay off loyal employees that you are fond of. You probably haven't seen all that you've worked hard for over decades slip away significantly in a few short years. You probably haven't had to cut off loyal customers because you are either unable to extend further credit, or because you know that to do so would be detrimental to your own well being. You actually think you would be better off with another four years of Corzine. That's crazy.

A vote for Lonegan, a third party candidate, or no vote, is a vote for Corzine. Those who do that are the real RINOS.

Let's get busy. This race is OURS to Win.

I don't like Christie, his lack of plans, or his recent commercials, but I dislike Corzine hundred times more. So since the primary day, I was 100% sure I'm voting for Christie, and nothing would change my vote.

But regarding Daggett... I have quite a few hardcore Dem friends who are leaning towards Daggett... is it OK to praise Daggett to them and convince them to vote for him?

Is it OK? That's for you to decide. If they are really friends, they will probably see through what you're up to. Of course it is better that they vote from Daggett over Corzine, but best that they vote for Christie. How would they have voted in Daggett was not in the race?

I'm afraid to vote.

Every election, the person I voted for lost.

Hmmm.....

Based on that premise, I should vote for Korzine.

That's a common problem for NJ Republicans.

Being a Republican in NJ is like being a Mets fan or a Jets fan.

It will be different this year.

My hardcore Dem friends, like most Dems, will still vote for Corzine. No matter what they say now, or much they say they're disappointed, they'll end up voting for him just because they don't want Christie to win. Pretty much the same reason I'm voting for Christie.

I won't be surprised if Daggett won't get more than 5-6%. Now people name him in the polls ore like a statement, but on election day they'll vote for who they actually want to win. Just look at Presidential elections, in all polls you'll see a 3rd party candidate polling at 4-5% and they rarely get much over 1%

Unfortunately, many people will vote for Daggett not because they think he will win, but because of personal feelings they have and it is in their own view, a protest against the other candidates. Unfortunately these voters are only thinking of themselves and not the overall picture or the outcome of the election. To waste a vote like this is what gets the wrong people into office in the first place. Daggett does not stand a chance to win. You have to think about the total picture. You know what we have now. If you want four more years of being victimized by Trenton, continued corruption, pay to play and even higher taxes over the next four years, vote for Corzine. If you really want to make a change, vote for the candidate who has the best chance to win instead of throwing your vote away. He cannot do any worse than what we have now. My personal feeling is that Christie really wants to change the way Trenton does business and when elected, he will definately make a change for the better.

I'm thinking of the next generation and not the next election. It's for that reason that I'll be voting for Steve Lonegan. I'll write in his name. I won't encourage liberal Republicans by voting for them. It's not enough that Chris Christie and his pro-abortion running mate are only slightly less offensive than what the Democrats are offering.

People who write-in candidates, or vote for candidates with no chance of winning... Why not just stay home? Wouldn't that be more economically efficient?

It is pathetic that the best argument that can be made to vote for Cristie is to stop Corzine from winning. I too agree with the post above, this is not about one election but the future. Until the two party system in this State is destroyed the State will remain corrupt. Cristie is a symptom of the illness. Party players taking care of each other and nothing changes, always leaving the voters with the lesser of two weasels. Spin all you want a vote for Dagget is a vote for Corzine. Well a vote for Cristie is also a vote for the corrupt two party system that got us here. If everyone has to suffer for another 6 years for a real independent third party to grow it is worth the pain.

Unfortunately no vot is also a vote for Corzine.

so, make the 2-party system better, don't destroy what's good about America, please..we have enough of that going on every day in Washington!

The Democrat and Republican parties are both corrupt and can not be fixed. The real Republicans, libertarians and conservatives need to break off and start an new party that independents and moderate democrats can support. Real Liberty and reform will not occur until the current corrupt system is overturned. We need real independants at every level, the party bosses in the GOP and Democrat party have two much to lose to ever allow real change.

First,
I do not understand why conservatives have been down on Christy.
We are going to elect a PRO LIF, PRO FREE ENTERPRISE Governor in NEW JERSEY.
How great is that.

Get over the sour grapes about Lonegan. he is not a conservative saviour. He is merely a charismatic demagoge and would have imploded if he got the nomination.

Christy has promised to cut spending. people are complaining he has not given specifics.
can you imagine if he did. every ox gored would be out to get him.
A Sure way to loose.

I agree we need a third party but Mr. "I never met a tax I wouldn't enact" Daggett is not it. He is a Democrat plant trying to throw the election to Corzine. I bet he has a swiss bank account LOL. People will not throw a vote away on him once they get in the booth.

My prediction Daggett gets 5% or less and Christy wins by at least 2 points.
