Mary Mahoney Wants Your Input

Mary Mahoney is running for Middletown Township Committee as a Democrat this year. The Asbury Park Press published this letter from her:

As a resident of Middletown for 24 years, I have enjoyed the roles of wife, mother and successful businesswoman. For the last 10 years, I have worked to improve our community, serving as a PTA volunteer and board member and, until recently, as a director on the board of the Lincroft Village Green Association.

The township's ill-planned approach to building turf fields opened my eyes to the serious shortcomings of our local government.

This experience and the extreme challenges facing our state and township convinced me to get more involved. As a result, I have decided to pursue a seat on the Middletown Township Committee.

I welcome residents' input and shared commitment.

Mary E. Mahoney
MIDDLETOWN

Let's give Mary a MMM welcome and lots of input and shared commitment in the comments.

Just a few minor tweaks - change your party affiliation, drop your ultra-liberal tendencies, stop thinking the world revolves around Lincroft, learn about an issue more important than a turf field that was killed several months ago, don't advertise your association with the LVGA loons, read the local papers where your running mate stated that the park you don't want turfed was the best location, have the Obama sticker on your car removed before November and don't let people know what good friends you are with little Patty Walsh. Aside from that, you're in good shape.

OMG, this is beyond textbook-trite!!..Middletown GOP, safe again, in 2010!..

Don't focus on making you're government bigger, work with what you have. You probably have plenty of resources in Middletown to solve your problems. If you can't afford it, don't buy it. If you can't run it, don't control it and for the love of God if it doesn't harm anyone, don't make it illegal. We've had enough of our liberties stripped from us as is.

Wow, she's a wife and a mother? That settles it, the other candidates may as well pack it in right now. Seriously, the words, "sacrificial lamb" come to mind. In fact, Mary was a little lamb.....

cant decide if im voting for byrnes or mary....Not voting for Scarfey, might just vote for 1 person this year and neither byrnes or mary

You are one of those lincroft nuts that wants another parkway exit in Tinton Falls.

I don't know what you should do but I'm donating money to the Middletown Republicans this year!

Anonymous said...

You got it TFT - even the sane people in Lincroft know these nuts. The Lincroft Village Green Association that she is so proud of is nothing but a bunch of whack jobs who do nothing except pat each other on the back for coming up with crazy ideas. I dropped out of it years ago when it became obvious they were only interested in getting Democrats elected. This woman is as clueless as they come so my advice to her is, go back to playing bridge with her pal Pat Walsh.

The loon writing at 9:43 a.m. is none other then Gerry's real estate buddy who has nothing good to say about anybody and is addicted to the local republican lack of common sense. She ought to try waking up and viewing the world as it is in in Middletown...

A Republican political cesspool !!!

Hey Art,
This letter was printed in full on AhH and Lincroft Village news. Why the App decided to delete half of it is interesting, but here is the entire letter.

Dear Editor,

As a resident of Middletown for 24 years, I have enjoyed the roles of wife, mother, and successful business woman. For the last ten years, I have worked to improve our community, serving as a PTA volunteer and board member and, until recently, as a director on the board of the Lincroft Village Green Association.

I was content to continue this service but my recent exposure to Township officials changed my mind. The Township’s ill-planned approach to building turf fields opened my eyes to the serious shortcomings of our local government. This experience and the extreme challenges facing our State and Township convinced me to get more involved. As a result, I have decided to pursue, a seat on the Middletown Township Committee.

Participating in recent town meetings, I became disillusioned with the lack of transparency, poor planning and misplaced priorities that waste our precious resources and tax dollars. Despite a $5,000,000 budget deficit in 2010, our Township Committee has yet to hold a budget meeting and has already missed five months of potential budget savings. This is unacceptable. Twenty-nine years of single party rule has produced inefficiency and waste.

This Township needs a common sense, apolitical approach to governing. I have no personal agenda other than a determination to serve my fellow residents. My aim is to protect our quality of life and will strive to improve it. I welcome your energy, input and shared commitment to work with me in achieving this goal.

Mary E. Mahoney

What happened anon 8:07, did a truck drive by your house and wake you up?

That's 9:43 p.m. and 7:51 a.m for the real estate buddy of Gerry's with a very vicious tongue. Step up to the plate and take on a real challenge as Mary has done.

You only have the courage to criticize !!!!

Pat Walsh and Mary Mahoney - big government loons who could care less about the taxpayers. Hey Mary - is Patty sharing some of the $100,000 she took with you for your campaign?

Someone take a picture of Mary's car with the Obama sticker on it ..oh, I bet it's already done.

Now that the entire letter is posted, this just goes to show you what the press is capable of doing.
Mary Mahoney may be a novice but she might be just the person this town needs. Someone who is honest, intelligent and doesn't have her own agenda.
Can't say the same for the current majority.

Now the dems are posting on MMM? Guess they realize where the power is ...

Art, what is the statement you keep asking. "Where are demorats doing a better job then the Republicans in Middletown?" I don't know the exact question, but I know that no one has answered it yet. Andrew Bane.

I'm still donating to the republicans.

Whatever makes anyone think the opinion of 9:11 a.m isn't shared by a great deal of the residents in Middletown who all want a healthier apolitical approach to governing?

Regardless of party affiliation the people in this town can't be blind to how poorly functioning this current "breed of republicans" fail at administration in this municipality. When a budget is finally announced everyone will come to realize the need for change.

Mary is just what we need....a public servant who understands what we have now doesn't work .

Middletown will reject Phoney Mahoney and Phoney Palloney just like we rejected Phoney Avallone.

Fair and balanced reporting by the Lincroft Village News? Are you kidding us? That rag is owned by Phoney Mahoney's good friend's momma Pat "was it a loan or a gift?" Walsh.

As a Lincroft Resident we don't want traffic circles every 5 feet on 520. We don't want to drive 8 miles an hour on Swimming River Road and we certainly don't want you to be elected!

I was at one of the town meetings where Mary Mahoney got up and blasted the leagues for having the nerve to want nice fields for their kids. Here's a reality check for you Mary - you and your handful of Lincroft snobs, some even from Holmdel, were outnumbered by thousands of kids and their parents. While I understand the town stopping the project because of the bad economy, I'm not forgetting your attitude toward our leagues. Word is already circulating and believe nme, the power of the leagues will be unleashed on you in November.

Libel is the name of the game for 9:43 p.m.,7:51a.m ,9:12a.m,9:46 a.m.,9;48 a.m. and probably more as this real estate "professional" engages in character assassination on your blog,Art, and on the APP in her ridiculous defense of the political hacks in the republican administration in Middletown.

Is this the only way they win?? Perhaps they should take a lesson from the superb example set by Anna Little in CD6 and CLEAN up their act. The republicans serving in Middletown have become a disgrace.

Anonymous said...

Hey disgusted resident (we all know you are BT) - what do you think about the mayor being named Public Official of the Year in 2009 and included in our great governor's transition team?

Anonymous said...

hmmm ... Lincroft Village News, owned by Pat Walsh's mom ...let's find out what businesses advertise in that rag and suggest to them they could better spend their money elsewhere. Maybe we could use ACORN or SEIU boycott tactics...

11:10a.m. anon....what does that have to do with this post?? Republicans playing in the mud puddles and sewage drains again??

Nothing to offer to the people of this township but the strategy of crap, crap and more crap!

Try the issues for a change and not your juvenile slander..

Mary's letter was a pleasant introduction .

Good point anon 11:10. In fact, wouldn't advertiser dollars be considered a campaign contribution? Probably should alert them to that possibility. After all, the paper's owner was once quoted as saying that she has to, "go beat up on Republicans." Clearly it is a democrat newsletter.

Corruption, wheeling of funds, hiding of campaign contributions, falsifying financial disclosure forms and ethical conduct are campaign issues.

Sorry if you don't like it.

I believe the Lincroft Village New has a letter from the Mayor along with the letter from Mary Mahoney. So is he best friends with Pat Walsh too?
Very interesting that the critisms agains Mary Mahoney are about who she supposedly is bff with.
Or whether she has an Obama sticker? Give me a break what's that got to do with local governing?
And if you beleive that Mary Mahoney blasted the sports clubs at the town hall meetings for wanting turf fiels, than try reading the minutes and the letter from SONIC which totally supports her improving the fields in town.
She was part of the group along with Pop Warner who paid for the multi sports field plans that proved they fit at Trezza Field.
Sounds like a lot of you out there are a little concerned about who the Republicans are up against in November.
1200 votes for Tony Avalone is hardly a rejection!

Anonymous said...

Oh please, the only reason Avallone broke 100 votes is because he was in the Tea Party column. The fact is, Mary Mahoney is part of what is known in Lincroft as the "whack pack." Unfortunately, the WP has tarnished Lincroft's image throughout the township. Because of them we are known as a bunch of crazy whiners. The LVGA which started out with good intentions has been taken over by them and let's just say that those who don't go along with all of their wild ideas are forced out. I also have a problem that so many of their officers are so involved in local politics. I don't want my dues going to a political action committee, which by definition, they are. In fact, an argument could be made that all dues are political contributions. Too bad.

Anonymous said...

The last comment at 1:24 and many others is from Scharfey's "Barbie",the lady from Majestic Avenue with a vendetta against the LVGA and several of the civic minded citizens in Lincroft.

This individual is a vicious ,slander slinging ,self serving republican who thinks her opinions are the only ones that count. It is her lies and libelous tongue that repeatedly assaults anyone and everyone who disagrees with her nonsense on this blog or the Asbury Park Press comments.

Is this the best of Scharfey & Co and what they have to offer Middletown's citizens? Is she the face of Middletown's republican party? Rein in this mutt because.........
Vicious, dirty , sick politics is the message conveyed.

Art - referring to the 2:17 post - any chance you can translate what the ?!#& she is talking about?

2:49 I don't need a translation from 2:17. I think your head is filled with too much garbage to see the truth about yourself. You're the perfect representative for the Republican Party in Middletown.
I hope Sharfy and the gang are proud of you. But the majority are just sick of your nonsense. We want our Township government working for us and that's why I voted for Tony Avalone, and btw I'm not part of the Tea party.

Anonymous said...

We know you're not part of the tea party ... thank God!

Freedom isn't free, you have to fight for it, for your liberty!

Art, for the record, "republicanforchange" is someone who is a diehard Democrat supporter who was unaffiliated until she voted for Avallone in the primary. She has a psychotic hatred for the mayor because he can't prohibit vehicles from using the road in front of her house. Drive by her house and you will witness a sea of Democrat signs on her lawn. The incredibly unqualified and inept Mary Mahoney will just be the latest. She is even hurting home sales in the area because her antics are so well known among the neighbors, and prospective buyers ultimately find out about "the woman who lives in that house." Nuttier than a squirrel turd.

If anyone truly knows me, I tell it like it is directly to you and too your face! I do not need anonymity to speak my feelings or beliefs! Why don't you do the same, but first GROW UP, and speak to me in person if you have any issues with me, not through a blog that has nothing to do with me? I expect to hear from you both of you- Signed Kathleen- Lincroft Resident & For the Children, Majestic Ave

I am new to this blog, but no stranger to the pontifications that drew an individual to identify herself in an attempt to extricate herself from her venemous diatribes.

The vicious, unfounded assaults are known in other venues, as well as, here on this blog. If the veiled threat of a lawsuit quells this persons vendettas, even slightly, we will all be the better for it. Alas, that kind of good fortune is doubtful.

The obviously painfully confused and angry thought patterns of this person should simply be ignored and dismissed as nonsense by all readers - no matter what their affiliation. The writer serves neither party well and makes mockery of the system that has served this country well.

Verbally assaulting individuals, persons running for office, civic organizations, newspapers, and former board of education members that the writer has little personal knowlege of should be indicative of how inconsequential the authors opinions are.

By the way, it's the syntax with which you write that identifies that you are the writer of many of these highly critical posts.

Regarding, an a new exit for Tinton Falls, we do need one. I drive several miles everyday along Wayside Road and Swimming River Road all the while I can see the vehicles driving by on the GSP. There are scores of commuters in TF's that would like to see this happen. The 105 entrance to the GSP coming or going is unmanageable. With massive development plans for the fort, the TF's writer will soon be wishing for a new exit.

Art, Repulican for a change is neither a die hard democrat nor this other person the author 9:44 is trying to associate me with. She seems undaunting in her personal attacks against a particular person who she obviously hates. After a few assaults, I get the clear picture that she's not worth the time or day to listen to. Just tired of her hate message.
The writer above pretty much sums things up better than anyone else I've ever read on your blogs. I keep waiting to read thoughtful, intelligent and factual comments and finally got it.

anony, 6:42 - You, your friends and your hate post do not matter to me. Take a chill pill! Your vendetta is just plain ludicrous. BT bought a home on Swimming River Road, paid less for it because it is on a busy ROAD. Since BT and her buddies on here dislike the location where she lives so much, you (she) should have moved herself into one of the homes the developer built when SHE SOLD HER PROPERTY to the developer! You can't have your cake and eat it too. Sure, I am against speeding on Swimming River Road and would like to see the hugh trucks take a different route away from 520 and SRR, but not put on residential streets like you would like to see happen!Your deep hatred and animosity toward the residents who disagree with you or those who stopped the cutting through the cul-de-sac or who want school budget spending cut
and accountability by school boards is not normal!! You spew lies and hate and I simply feel sorry for your type with such deep hatred and anger. It's pitiful to watch your hatred in action and on display at meetings and hate posts on blogs. There is no reasoning with a person with deep hatred and anger. There is more to your anger than my(a resident) disagreeing with you, and if not, like I said before it is not normal! Again, you do not believe me about posting or not posting just proves again to me you just think you know it all, NEW FLASH you do not, and I truly do not care what you think. I know the truth and the many residents that know me also know the truth, that is all that matters! Again, You do not matter to me.

Talk about taking a chill pill. Look in the mirror, you sound like you need therapy. No one wants to hear about you and your residents and how they hate someone.
You're the one with the hatred and personal attacks on this person aand many others. I don't even know who you are! If you don't care than why do you keep coming back?
ENOUGH ALREADY!!!
